Public house insurance news - Trade figures and World Cup highlight cover need
The value of finding competitively priced public house insurance was underlined again recently with the release of figures detailing March trade figures for the UK's leading pub and restaurant groups.
According to the Coffer Peach Business Tracker survey sales at 15 major pub and restaurant groups fell 0.4% on like-for-like sales during March of 2009.
However, the results weren't all bad news; bucking a downward trend, the survey also revealed that there had been a 2.9% rise in sales since February.
A statement from a spokesman with Coffer Corporate Leisure added strength to claims that tough market conditions make competitively priced public house insurance a must.
"The results are a reminder that trading remains tough, although there is some evidence that the chains are starting to pull back on promotions that fuelled much of last year's growth," said the spokesman.
There are further reasons to be optimistic, with the World Cup due to start in June, publicans are preparing themselves for what may well be one of the most lucrative summers on record.
However, the fact that so many punters will find themselves watching matches on the big screens of pubs means that it is incumbent on publicans to ensure they have sufficient public house insurance in the event of some form of claim being necessary, such as one for a public liability or business interruption.
